stb 0 Posted July 8, 2004 It was raining, the place was as empty and the light as gloom as the way I was feeling that day. Link to comment
ddamian 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Zen-like serenity. I think the half-photo horizon choice matches this feeling just right. Link to comment
jonathan_proulx 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Nice sense of space, I feel as though I want to walk in and sit down, but the relation of the table top to the water line troubles me I want it either even or with more seperation. Link to comment
roy1 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Try to avois placing stuff smack in the middle of your shot (rule of thirds)... I think following this would have made the picture better, i'd also try a different angle. Link to comment
elly1664876496 0 Posted July 8, 2004 I really like the simplicity and the symmetry :) Link to comment
cmarnell 0 Posted July 8, 2004 I think having the horizon right in the middle takes away from the picture. As mentioned earlier, the rule of thirds. Link to comment
patrickconnolly 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Perhaps framed a bit differently, so that the table isn't centered horizontally Link to comment
jonathan_proulx 0 Posted July 8, 2004 Why can't things be centered sometimes? I like the framing over all. Visually it isn't exaclty centered. The shore line is a much stronger horizontal than the actual horizon, to me. Perhaps this piece is investigating the theorem of sixths? The bottom half of the image at least is split into three zones: the sand in the forground, the table, and the water...The upper half also has three zones though not as evenly spaced or balanced as those in the lower portion: the pale stripe just above the horizon, the cloud band, and the darker region above that. Do people really find this objectionable? BTW I've decided I'd prefer a slightly lower angl on the shot so the far edge of the table aligns with the shore line (I'm sure you've been waiting for my pronouncement on that :) -Jon Link to comment
jason maestri 0 Posted July 8, 2004 I love the feeling that this scene evokes! It really makes me want to be there. Well composed. Link to comment
