Sand ripples Findhorn

ian cameron

For some reason I was in a foul mood when I went to photograph these textural patterns and ripples in the sand I seemed to drop just about every accessory I owned into the wet sand. Never-the-less I must confess I was really pleased that I persevered, I came away with a few great shots. Hope you like.

Happily a foul mood and a bout of extreme clumsiness didn't distract

me from my task of getting a shot I was proud of.

Absolutely spotless! No damned seagulls....Beautiful rich colours as usual, BUT...does that horizon need rotating 0.7degrees CW?......I always find marine horizons tricky to look at...Very deep focus...You must have been stopped right down to f22....We always expect so much from you, Ian, because your images are so good.

Agh Robert your a hard man to please. I will take your word for it that it needs rotation by the amount you say. Although I know how to rotate the pctures in photoshop I admit that my PS skills are immature. So I tend to line up by eye rather than using a reference grid or rule line.

I suffer the same issues here in West Michigan--sand, water, wind filling my bag and camera with sand. It does tend to put one in a foul mood.

Foul mood or not, this photo produces a mood of wonder and amazement. I'm a big fan of sand textures, clouds and water. I especially like the way the direction of the sand ridges compete and yet combine with the clouds leading from the bottom left--a high quality shot.
