Turquoise at Gruinard Bay

ian cameron

It is a rare combination of light tides and viewpoint that reveals Gruinard Bay's colours so spectacularly. Apolariser stripped away the surface glare. I was pleased that the shingle beach, partially exposed, connected the background mountains and foreground with a sinuous line.

The colours were superb courtesy of a rare combination of light and

tides. A Polariser cut through the glare and a sinuous line of

shingle connected foreground to background.

Clarity, depth, colors, sky, location! Great shot! This is just one of those shots that the first time you see it you form an instant opinion. I'll keep looking for your posts ...

The light and the angle give this photo a good depth, whichis what I expect from good landscape photos. Not a very special (original) photo, but finally a landscape I am pleased to see.

Thank you all for taking the time to air oyur views. Not particularly original true but quite irresistable. I don't usually take many photographs during broad daylight as I find the pictures can look a little ordinary but the colours, clarity and view point were exceptional. A great advert for Scotland I think.

Ian, your images are usually immaculate, which causes me to question the two or three whitish spots on the water....dust, I think.

Otherwise, another Scottish beauty.

Not dust Robert, gulls dust would show black on a transparency but I have to admit the one on the edge of the dark triangle (sea) is distracting, serves me right for spotting at 100% where it is more obvious whatthe white spot is. On reeflection I would torpedo the gull too.
