Trying some new dodging and burning techniques in photoshop and wanted to know if they worked.

I was trying some dodging and burning in Photoshop for the first time and

wanted to see how it worked out. Looks a lot darker on the web like this than

opened in Photoshop.

I'd say they were successful since I have to guess where you did it! Probably the sand in the lower right corner and the dog's nose? Very nice angle and cooperative subject as well! Hope it was a good day at the beach and you kept the sand out of the camera!

i actually dodged the whole dog, since she is so black she came out very dark. so i dodged her up to get some detail in her shadowy figure.

...and a little sand did get into my viewfinder, but nothing too painful
