We normally see swans as white brids, but they are generally not

quite white. Do you think this ditratcs from the photo...? Should I

have over exposed it a bit to make the swan whiter and risked burning

out the detail...?

I think any more exposure would be a mistake - some of the neck has already started to burn out, so you would have a major problem with excess contrast. Anyhow, where I come from, swans are black!

Good swan, if a trifle static. They make beautiful subjects. The strong directional light makes it difficult to get much detail in the white plumage. I know, I've tried enough times!
