Why did the chicken?

ian cameron

A pleasant rural scenic in the Lake district I used the leaves on the overhanging trees to help frame the image and the bridge as an invitation into the scene. I was even more delighted to find the chickens using it as a thoroughfare.

It appears time was spent composing the scene. You have a good eye and now you know why the chicken crossed the road so you could then take the photo.

Lovely photo, a lot of lines going on here, the leaves at the top work well to frame the shot, and the chickens add just a little bit of color! Well done.

To get to the rooster on the other side? This should be in a travel magazine advertising England or a postcard. Beautiful.

My vote is "WITH" the chickens. Not only for the additional colour which they bring in the picture, but for the motion with which they fill the scene and the shadows, which are the only (long) ones we can see from this point of view.

Cheers,

My vote is for the overall effect, the polarizer, the Velvia, the chickens and, above others, Ian behind the camera, composing, framing, exposing, feeling and clicking. Well done!
