Any critique welcome - thanks.

This is part of a series of my niece and nephew. Any advice welcome,

particularly how to get quality uploads to photo.net!

Mark, since the limit is supposed to be 100KB, there's not much you can do. are you using photoshop? resize the photo to the max 800 pixels for the larger dimension, then use the save for web tool, and adjust the quality as high as it will go keeping you under the 100KB limit. good luck. oh and nice moment you captured there.

Christopher, thanks but I've tried all that already. I just wondered if anybody had any little secrets they were willing to share.

ian just took the words outta my mouth...this is a great moment to capture! i think b/w or duotone would look great here. if you don't mind me playing simply with this, how does this look?

You just can't beat kids. You can almost hear them giggle in this shot. Well done.

A question. Do you blured the blackground or Canon 10D is able to get a good DOF like an analogic camera?.BTW good photo, you caugth just the moment. I not agree with more contrast, IMO the photos of children don't need contrast on the contrary must be smooth, but I agree with the people who think that he would be better in monocolor (not necessarily in BW). I'm trying to improve my photos and my english. Regards.

a very nice moment captured!

Pedro, canon 10d is able to blur back ground like a regular reflex it depends on the lens you use.

Everybody,

Thanks for commenting.

Pedro, I did add some additional blurring to the background as the shot was taken at f8. I think you do get more depth of field with the 10D due to the multiplication factor of the sensor size, but, had I shot at a wider aperture I'm sure the background would have blurred more as they were not too close to it.

Asim ,thanks. Perhaps I'll re-submit this in black and white - it may help with the terrible artifacting that this picture is suffering from.
