jon01 0 Posted July 7, 2004 I have to confess that I just bought your Sigma AF 70-300mm f4-5.6 (DL) Macro after viewing this and some of you other shots. I found it on ebay for $125 including shipping! Can't beat that. :) I checked out the Tamron 180mm for upwards of $600/700. The Canon was well over $1000. Anyway, great shot! You got me really excited about doing macro again. I also love the idea that you could use your onboard flash effectively (or hotshoe)since you can be close to a yard away from your subject. It looks like you used a flash for this shot. It's a must especially for that focal length. What kind of flash did you use? Onboard only? I'm wondering if I can get away with onboard only once I start using my lens. How far away from these beautiful horny creatures were you?? Thanks! Link to comment
allonkira 0 Posted July 7, 2004 Hi Jon! First of all, thanks for your time and your comment :) also, I hope you'll enjoy using this lens. I think it's one of the best lenses of it's price. I know it's cheep and not considered as a professional one, but under good light conditions you can get fine results. Anyway, for 125$ you did a great deal! Reg. this photo ? I stood about one meter from the insects, I didn't use a tripod and I shoot it with onboard flash only (since I don't have a hotshoe...yet). That's the reason for the dark background. The onboard flash of the 300d gives nice results when you shoot macro on daylight. So, thank's again and happy shooting! allon. Link to comment
