I held the camera high above my head on tiptoe to minimize perspective

distortion, without being able to see thru the finder

tres cool. you could even crop out that curve at the bottom and have a "panoramic" length shot. i just now realized what we are looking at (i didnt read the title...)

strong composition, for me it's stronger without the lower arch.

Is this what you see as the best crop?

I hadn't seen Asim's comment when I posted mine. I agree priceicely with your crop as well.

it reminds me of the landing bay on the Battlestar Galactica.
