dave_nitsche 0 Posted June 11, 2004 Doug, yeah. I saw Johns comment above "...It was incredibly green, one of the greenest scenes I've ever seen." and took off on it. I love the incredible saturation of Velvia and have tons of actions set up to try and match it. Probably way to over the top, but sort of etherial in feel. For me at least. Link to comment
the photographer1 0 Posted June 11, 2004 :( I don't have that kind on money for that kind of computer equipment :( Link to comment
tim_trappe 0 Posted June 11, 2004 Thank you to everyone who did so much work on this image. This is exactly the type of discussion set that I have been looking for on this site. Wonderful photo, much appreciated and a spectacular follow up. Link to comment
dumpster001 1 Posted June 12, 2004 Dave, i gotta tell you, the moss and greens look like they're made of rubber in your edit.. sort of synthetic. Link to comment
dougityb 0 Posted June 12, 2004 yeah, Balaji, but it's green rubber. That's the difference. Link to comment
geoff.... 0 Posted June 12, 2004 Well John, I am fascinated by the amount of post photo mucking around that has gone on. Having just spend too many nights scanning recent images and experimenting with different settings I wonder whether I will be able to get out and take as many photos as I used to... having said that I will give your scene a go next month... it may contain a touch or two of snow. g1 0 Posted June 12, 2004 Gorgeous scene John! Did you spot any midsummer fairies?Of the corrections offered up, I prefer Leigh's versions as he has neutralised the water where others seem colour cast. Anyway, here is my offering:duplicate layercolour balance>midtones>red + 18selective colour>whites>black -100%hue/saturation>reds> - 50%levels>darken green channel..... .......... darn I can't remember any more! But the important bit is to put the adjustment layers on 'colour' mode. Link to comment
mclaine 0 Posted June 12, 2004 Sorry I've been away everyone, but I'm back now. Leigh, you should have quit while you were ahead, "Velvia 50 Polarised" beats the Ken Duncan special. Dave, yours is FreakY! Hope you had fun doing it. G, yours is very close, I think it's a close race between you and Doug for second place, but (drum roll) the Oscar for Best Supporting Photoshop for Bridge, Pencil Pine Creek goes to......Leigh Perry for V50P. A word of advice, don't open that file from Doug. To everyone else who enjoyed and contributed to this extensive conversation, thank you so much. It's been a very good one! Link to comment
Jen Selwa 0 Posted June 12, 2004 John, great shot and fun to see the variations. Love the composition and the detail in this image. Great capture! Link to comment
mclaine 0 Posted August 10, 2004 Thanks Stuart, I actually did expose a 4x5" sheet of Neopan Acros of this same composition! It prints quite nicely on Polymax FB glossy. Link to comment
