Good idea of composite, the beautiful light and water in the background, and the greenery of the daylight. Extremely well executed. Bravo.

Hi Wilson

Thanks for the kind comment. I just wanted to state that this is not actually a composite. It is just one photo. I used an adjustment layer on the foreground to brighten it up and help contrast. Glad you like it. Regards, Martin Paul.

Very well. Maybe a bit dark but colours are rewarding it. The best is sky with reflections on the water's bay

It doesn't look dark on my screen Chris but everyone has thier screen calibrated differently. Anyone else think it is too dark?

I like the lighting and contrast as is, I wouldn't mind seeing a version maybe a tad lighter but this is great as is.

woah.. I love the tone, saturation, and contrast. that's awesome. but i wish it could be sharper than this. or is this because of the resizing? this is crazy photo

you made me homesick for my favourite part of UK (Scotland) and I have been an Aussie for 15 years.

Wonderful image, love the colours (of course) and the multiple lines/curves in the foreground

Dudes! There's a freaking powerplant right in the strongest point of this image! There's some other industrial structure in the upper right! Doesn't anyone see them? Assuming the photographer knew what he was doing, that's got to mean something! Otherwise, he could have stood somewhere else, or pointed his camera in a different direction, or cloned the buildings out in Photoshop. He didn't do any of those things, so I assume he meant to include the jarring structures. In fact, one could argue that this picture is not of the landscape, but of the buildings. This isn't just a "pretty-ful" picture. There's a clash of nature and industry, old and new, agrarianism versus the factory. So, is that a colorful sunset, or does it suggest an inferno? I think this photo deserves a bit more meaningful comment than it's been getting!

From my POV, he has placed them according to the rule of 1/3rds. so they are intentional. His title includes the power station. They do not detract from the imagery at all, IMO.

I would find it anathema to excise them from the image. As a predominantly landscape p I can accept colours, dodging, burning manip etc, but not removal of buildings.

Martin - What a beautiful sunset! Just love the green layers in the foreground, the blue water in the middle, and the orange in the sky!

Barry - what an insightful comment, too! I went back to the photo after reading your comment, and whoa! I see the power plant in an entirely new light!

Cheers All!

Yes, just to clarify, I really like this photo, but in large part because there's a lot more in it than people seem to be seeing. Having looked at the rest of the porfolio, it's obvious that this photographer DOES know what he's doing, so the buildings do have to be discussed.
