yo 0 Posted July 31, 2001 I like the photo a lot, but I think it would work even better if displayed upside-down. Give it a try. Link to comment
yui_cheng 0 Posted July 31, 2001 Cropping was just right. The slight wave of the reflection strengthened the overall image. If you had waited long for that precise moment to take this image, it was well worth it. Link to comment
bernd_gaertner 0 Posted August 1, 2001 I agree with Dwight about putting it upside-down.That would vastly improve it. Link to comment
yang 0 Posted August 1, 2001 Thank you all for the inputs! Frankly speaking, I don't quite catch why I should better change this photo this way or that way. While uploading a new photo two minutes ago, I have just noticed there was a wrong description in the field Technical Details "Photo montage" that actually belonged to another photo uploaded last week and has been remaining in this field since then. I didn't notice this and therefore failed to clearn this field first. Maybe some of you did read that wrong sentence and made the changing suggestions accordingly. The fact is, this is de facto an untouched photo. I only cropped it a little bit on one side. Best regards, Yang Link to comment
myhlow 0 Posted August 1, 2001 I cannot think of any suggestions to this shot. The colors are bright, and details are sharp. Well done! Link to comment
mottershead 0 Posted August 4, 2001 I love the reflections and the saturation of the colors. Link to comment
joel benford 0 Posted August 5, 2001 Pretty good, though I too like the upside down version. Maybe you could upload both? Link to comment
george_d._gianni 0 Posted August 5, 2001 Very well executed. I like the pinkish top and the blue bottom. Don't turn it upside down, it would be too conventional. Link to comment
juergen_kollmorgen 0 Posted September 2, 2001 That's great ! Balance and tension are competing which each other in the same way as boat vs. mirrored buildings. Link to comment
sergei_pechersky 0 Posted October 18, 2001 Don't change the orientation, Yang. This is just a beautiful photo. Congrats. Link to comment
tonys 0 Posted October 21, 2001 Excellent shot. It looks like the digital cameras are not bad at all, as many of photo.nets members think. I think they are slightly better. Congratulations! Link to comment
yang 0 Posted October 25, 2001 Thanks for the compliments! The photo quality of digital cameras has been improved a lot since last year. But, even the modernst digital cameras can produce digital artifacts under certain lighting conditions. On the other hand, one always gets certain quality loss by scanning film photos. So, for the web presentation, the camera itself is not decisive. Link to comment
blago 0 Posted October 31, 2001 I am envying (-:)) you for this shot and just can not believe it was made with a digital camera. Everything here is excellent. Blago Link to comment
john_paskey 0 Posted January 15, 2003 Good composition and colors. I don`t know about flipping it upside down though. ---Actually, after trying it, I do like it better upside down. Link to comment
