eric_jordan1 0 Posted July 31, 2001 This is my best shot from my latest sunset shoots, it was also one of the last ones I took. It was around 9 P.M. when I took this so Venus and a star are visible with the Moon. Any questions/comments welcomed. I think I took this shot around f/22 or so around 1.5-2 seconds in case you were wondering. Link to comment
kaiblanke 1 Posted July 31, 2001 Nice one, though I'd expect to see more color on sunset picture. A bigger tree would work well (or getting closer to the tree) to have an interesting separating element between sky and earth. Link to comment
ethan hansen 0 Posted August 2, 2001 The colors are excellent - obvious why you took the shot. Next time, try opening up the lens to f/11 or so -- the softness from the f/22 setting greatly reduces the effect of the tree. Link to comment
frank_jeffers 0 Posted August 4, 2001 I think the colors are very nice, and the moon adds a nice touch. Maybe be better from a slightly different angle. but still very nice. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted August 14, 2001 In most of the comments people are asking more detail in the bottom part of the image or the first plane Do they relay need so much concrete? (This is my second comment to your sunsets, both on the same subject). Anyway, the artistic and the concrete are not going well together (despite some names as "realism", "neoclassicism", etc). If the concrete has not a documentary value, than it is a vulgarity (no other option). So, keep it abstract. Link to comment
cedarbough 0 Posted September 24, 2001 Looking over your uploaded photos, as far as I can tell this is your best shot. You are young and working on technique, just like I am older than you and working on technique. Fortunately I've had a bit longer to go at it than you have. This photo, while not especially imaginitve or original has great colors and I like the itsy-bitsy sliver of moon. Keep shooting and buy a ND graduated filter, as many of your photos would benefit from using one. Link to comment
dave_anderson3 0 Posted October 19, 2001 I also think this is your best shot. There are number of things that all come together here. The color is nice and rich and the range is great. The trees are interesting - help break up the shot. The moon is an added bonus.Regarding Kai's Comment: Not enough color???? My screen shows dark blacks, bright oranges, moving through red to a deep blue/purple. The tree works fine where it is to break up the ground to sky.Regarding Viorel's Comment:?? I guess you will have to 'dumb it down' for me to understand that one.Regarding Cedar's Comment:Right on. Try out some differnet filters. They are fun and can improve some shots. Link to comment
