paul pinkley 0 Posted June 3, 2004 good mix of water land and sky and placement, well done Link to comment
don diego 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Have colours been manipulated ??? Water seems a bit "too blue" ? very nice image ! :) Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Thanks for the comments. The water is a bit subdued due to the low light. These New Zealand lakes are the most amazing colours. I'll post some other shots showing the lake during the day soon. Link to comment
digitaldee 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Nice landscape. I would have cropped the bottom a little bit Link to comment
nick_shuval_sergeev 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Very good. But I think, that crop from the right is not good. It seems to cut the ground, that go to the water. Maybe crop more, near the tree? Link to comment
alienspecimen 0 Posted June 3, 2004 I may have been tempted to include more from the landscape to the left Link to comment
phalvorson 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Amazing light, and a great shot! I might have cropped half the bottom blue off and a slight touch off the top. Did you use an graduated neutral density filter? I'll be looking for more of your shots. Link to comment
maria conversano 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Great shot! I love the light, the composition and the colors. Congrats! Link to comment
stephengalea 0 Posted June 4, 2004 A GREAT MIX OF COLORS...WELL DONE AND THANK GOD FOR THE WONDERFUL LIGHTING.... wELL DONE AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Thanks for all the comments. I did use a grad to control the sky. From memory, it would have been a 3 stop soft Lee filter. Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted June 4, 2004 Jeff, that's a masterpiece control of colours and exposition. I can just dare commenting on some very personal base. I might have liked to shot more of the ridge to the right and get the tree more to the left and the church more to the right. Or would this have gotten cars and the alike? I seem to remember, from my pit-stop there in horrible lights, that there was quite a structure more to the right... Link to comment
abc 0 Posted June 4, 2004 great color - maybe he trees are to much into the middle of the photo Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Salvatore, This was my third night at Lake Tekapo, and the only one when the carpark was empty. I actually sat in a restaurant watching the light develop, and was able to be there in time to get this shot without ruining dinner. The church really set the shot and the need to exclude a lump of ugly road while getting the wonderful light on the hills. Here is the view to the right http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2218453 Link to comment
salvatore.mele 1 Posted June 4, 2004 I understand/remember the place from where you shot, then, and I understand the framing. Actually, in the sunset shot, the effect of the car park is reduced. Did you consider square-cropping it? Cheers, Link to comment
jeff.grant 0 Posted June 4, 2004 The cropping is from the bottom only. I wanted as much of the hills as possible. As you can see from my other shots I am partial to squares. Link to comment
henrimanguy 0 Posted June 4, 2004 Good light, beautiful landscape, but I would have prefer no tree in the center. Link to comment
