pedja 1 Posted June 2, 2004 I'm particularly interested in your opinion about composition - would you frame or crop it differently? Link to comment
vladimir_bojovic 0 Posted June 2, 2004 This is great photo. I would prefer slightly higher contrast. Link to comment
pradeep1 0 Posted June 2, 2004 i like it, it looks nice, i dont see any problems wth the composition, but somehow the horizon and the sky seems over exposed, or is it meant to be like that? cheers! Link to comment
andris 0 Posted June 2, 2004 Predrag, about cropping/framing see attached versions. Anyway there should be serios reason to place horizon at the center of image. And I can't see it. The same concerns to overburned sky. Human eye see the sky differently than film. If you use b/w film try to use yellow or orange filter or use chanell mixer for desaturating color original.HTH!Andris Link to comment
igor diamandi 0 Posted June 2, 2004 The composition is great, adding more contrast would probably be better, but again, It looks really good :) Link to comment
paul_muresan 0 Posted June 2, 2004 I like it alot Predrag. Very original indeed. Keep on shooting. Cheers. Thanks for notifying me. Link to comment
kslonaker 0 Posted June 2, 2004 Too bad the sky wasn't more dramatic, but this is a very balanced composition and I like it as you have cropped it. Link to comment
pedja 1 Posted June 2, 2004 Thank you all, especially Pradeep and Andris, for constructive comments. This photo was shot around noon. The light was very strong and the whole scene was bright. There were very few people on the beach. Those two were standing still long enough for me to take several shots. There was no detail in the sky. The image shown is very close to what I actually saw and it was the intention of mine. Link to comment
nikhil_khedkar 0 Posted June 2, 2004 Very nice picture indeed. The only problem I see is the overexposed sky. Link to comment
brandon hale 0 Posted June 2, 2004 Hay Predrag, I agree with most of what has been said but I think that I would lower the horizion to about the lower third and moved over to the left so the boat is not a pure bow on shot. You could still show that it is a twin hulled boat but also shown more of the side this would have given it more depth. It is good to see that you are putting people in your shots again. tony georgiadis 0 Posted June 2, 2004 A very well balanced composition, I do not mind about the brightness it's good for me at least I have a clue how the light was. Link to comment
marcin_tomaszewski 0 Posted June 3, 2004 It can darkly a bit ?Generally Ok,.Regards Marcin Link to comment
robporter 0 Posted June 3, 2004 I like this composition - the land on each side balances the shot, there is the human interest directing your gaze to the boat, and I feel that more detail in the sky might detract from this. Link to comment
Skromni pozdravi! Link to comment
mareval 2 Posted June 4, 2004 Superb composition. I think light must be less hard, to shot in other moment of day... but I perfectly know that in this kind of images youve to do what you can because its that or nothing and I congratulate you for this decision (I always prefer having a shot) Best Regards. Cheerio! Link to comment
margaret_s. 0 Posted August 1, 2004 I like this very much. I disagree about the cropping - I think the rocks on each side add depth and perspective. I do agree though that more contrast (esp. more detail in the sky) would've made the image more "ideal" technically and visually - but I still like it. It's very well framed (in the viewfinder, I mean :) Link to comment
