Thanks all for your congratulations about my photo!!

Sincerly, its only 1 year that I use a camera and 5 months photoshop

I didnt believe that this pics could like so much!

Remember that Im a beginner!!!

 

For me, this ratings are a big surprise and a beautiful dream!

Here some technical details of my photo:

t 1/250s, f 8, focal=16,9 mm. Flash:On (-1,3 intensity) , iso 64.

Photoshop manipulations:

 

- No crop, Correction of luminosity and contrast of the eyes.

- Adjust the color composition and the channel mixer.

- Burn and dodgei have used they so much for correction of exposure (some zone with shadow the others with high light..): use burn with shadow and dodge with light and halftones.

- Correct saturation in eyes and hair and grass.

- Add the level of the sky.

- Add the false hairs with the hairs brushes catching the color in a zone near.

and that is all!!

Can the autor confirm this? hehehe At least that's what I would do :)

"Cat handling" mutch has been said about the incredible picture an the PS part of it, now I can give pointers on how to get your cat in this posotion hehehe, I have 2 cats and It's nearly imposible to get them to do this unless you grab their frontal and back legs an position him on his side and with the help of somebody then shoot the picture. Can the autor confirm this? hehehe At least that's what I would do :)

Di grande impatto!! Colori meravigliosi proprio perché leggermente surreali. Spesso mi diverto anche io con photoshop e devo dire che lo hai usato bene: buona la scontornatura e la ricostruzione del pelo e buona la cura del "fuori fuoco" sullo sfondo... sembra un "dio felino". Bravo!!

I LOVE this very surrealistic image!

You know what I like the best about this image, its the colours.

 

The first thing that grabbed my attention was the cats green eyes which are as green as the grass.. I think you used the grass as its eyes..

 

The golden colour of the cat itself is very radient.

 

Well chosen with the cloud formation, its not too dramatic that it takes focus off the cats eyes, and its not too boring or suttle. Just right!

 

Though there is a shadow on the cats left side of face, and neck, the clouds you have chosen seem to exactly represent the shadows the should forcast.

 

Excellent image and I rate this image a 7 out or 7

I was scouring through the photos in the "last 3 months" category. The thumbnail caught me whilst on my visual rampage. One of the aspects I saw and appreciated immediately was the color of the eyes harmonizing with that of the grass. And the sky, it looks like something from a fantasy book, but it belongs here. At one point, the clouds seemed to move, but yah, I have been on this site for some time today.:P

The photo is NICE indeed and the Author made his job quite well. However I regret to say that this is a big shame for the community and a sad truth about the participants of this forum that with their votes this photo became an overall #1 (or even that it got to the top overall photos at all). Unluckily this fact says a lot about the members of photo.net...

Really? I didn't know that it was at the top of any (list). And I'm very sorry to hear that you think that the position of this image indicates... ([something...]...a lack of good perception and/or judgement by the members here)? I'm new here, but I'm not a photographer, (which is clearly stated in my info). But as a professional musician, I've found that the "laymen" in the audience often bring a fresh and unique perspective in their critiques of my performances. I have to admit, it's always flattering when another musician-- (someone that "knows" what they're talking about, :D)-- gives me highest regards. But I remind myself that the world is not full of professional musicians, and the majority of the audience will always be populated with those that only listen for pleasure.

 

I've wondered if many Photographers here would prefer that non-photographers do not give ratings. When thinking this through, I can see pros and cons of both scenarios; but one bonus, I think, of allowing the "laymen" in PN to participate is that we're neither vying for high marks on our own submissions-- as there aren't any--- nor attempting to vindicate ourselves by slapping a low mark for someone whose ratings we didn't like.

 

That's all, really, just that the ol' cliche about beauty & the beholder must be true. I'm amazed sometimes at the performances that some people thought were "great", and other performances that were yawned through. LOL!

I would say this is a wonderful image, but personally, I think a photo is a capture of what you saw in your camera at a precise moment.

 

The effect is really stunning, I guess you spent hours on this picture to get such a result & I really want to congratulate for your work. I also want to add that you have the honesty of using a field where you say your picture has been modified.

 

Nevertheless, I won't rate morethan O = 6 & A = 4 because of what I think about photos. According to me, the eyes are too unreal. Furthermore, your cat is not fully sharp, if you look at his right ear and the top of his body.

 

One more time, this is a wonderful image, but not a photo. You know, that's the debate at the moment...

I've seen digital creations on PN that I couldn't call photos, but this isn't one of them. Photoshop may make this easier and certainly more accessable but stranger and more surreal compositions have been made in the darkroom, are they not photos?

This is art and I like it 7/7 because you PS work made it very original and I don't think it would be any better if the cats body was sharp. The whole photo being sharp, does not always make it better IMHO. Steve
