Frosted fire grass

ian cameron

This vivid red grass is at its most striking in late Autumn. I found this patch glowing backlit likr the embers of a fire on an early November morning on top of Lochindorb moor I removed the reflections with a polariser saturating the colours and inverted a 0.6ND grad filter to reduce the difference in illumination between foreground and background. The bonus for me was the contrasting cold colours of the vivid blue November sky reflected in the frost on the background hills. Hope you enjoy. The colours accurately match my transparency.
