billtootell 0 Posted July 29, 2001 This is beautiful. I love the colors and textures and the bird makes it more than an architectural shot. Nicely done. Link to comment
narcissus 0 Posted August 4, 2001 Out of three rolls of film taken in Venice (that's about a hundred images in total), I felt this one was the strongest image of them all. I've posted 3 other Venice photographs here, and I thought it somewhat strange that those other ones got looked at more and received more comments than this one. So what do you think? Do you find this image more, or less successful the the other three? The folder can be found at http://www.photo.net/photodb/folder? folder_id=136956 Link to comment
thales milesius 0 Posted August 4, 2001 I also like the composition pretty much, as well as color balance, and textures. Did you soften the image on purpose or it's just the scan? If it was the first case, I think that the image would enrich itself with a sharp focus rather than softening. If it was the last case I'll suggest you to try a scan from the negative rather than paper. Curiously, Canal between two local residential buildings does benefit from softening. Link to comment
neil_beddoe1 0 Posted August 4, 2001 It's very well composed and the colour balance is lovely. However, I prefer the one that you shot in your hotel room. I've had pictures rated lower than others I think are better and I'll never understand why. It all comes down to personal taste in the end. Link to comment
