kslonaker 0 Posted May 22, 2004 I really like the muted colors in this one, Mike. The boy on the right side adds interest. Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Shot is very good. Image is little too flat, due to the scan I suppose. Adjusting levels in PS would brighten it up a tad. Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Hay Hans, thanks for your comment, my laptop screen is a bit off. so,correction is done, groet, mike Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted May 22, 2004 that's quick! But it seems it also washed out some yellow, wich seems to be part of the wall. Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Hay Hans, I was just brouwsing when your massage arived and made a new reduction in photoshop, it seems that I can not do better than this. The moment the picture was made there was rather bright sun and havy shadow in the gallery. groetjes, mike Link to comment
photos of hans koot 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Had it in the memory, so I copied it to ps. I adjusted some. If you mind please tell me! Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 23, 2004 Hello Hans, I just see your work on this picture on my laptop, tomorrow I have a look on my desktop that configuration is better adjusted. Your sample lookes a bit pink on my laptop, to flatering. So tomorrow I be critical ;~))) mike Link to comment
colin carron 58,916 Posted May 24, 2004 I quite like the washed out colours whether you meant them like that or not! Has a more natural feel IMO. I like all the chairs! Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 24, 2004 Hay Colin, the washedout colors are about, the building is an old monistery close to the most western part of europe mainland at the atlantic ocean shore, so burning summer sun, salt wind and beating winter rains is part of the landscape and architectural skin. I made the picture about 11 years ago, so the real colors are not in my memory anymore, but this will be close. I made a picture one year before this one on the same place, different chairs but same situation and a little different in coloring like this, maybe different film different time of the day, so? I add the xample. mike Link to comment
bram meijer 0 Posted May 26, 2004 beautiful again. Recht van voren ipv met schuin invallende lijnen maakt deze foto heel krachtig. Bram Link to comment

mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 26, 2004 Thank you for passing by. yours, mike. (you should see the landscape around this place, looks like nothing else, fantastic.) mike Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 27, 2004 Is het jouw achtertuin?

kristin_morales 0 Posted May 27, 2004 I do like your recent uploads alot! I like the building and of course the boy....but most of all the chairs...can't say why exactly...maybe they are just inviting someone to sit in them. Link to comment
mike werkhoven 0 Posted May 27, 2004 Thats a nice idea Kristin, an invitation. Actualy the chair is much used in painting history for expectance. One year before I took this picture I went to this place as well, there were chairs placed too, different chairs, but placed in the same posed way as these are, I think they do understand there aesthetic impact very well. (see my answer to Colin include the capture I made then) The kid is selling shells. yours, mike Link to comment
