This was shot on the way up the Shivaganga hill near Bangalore. These chameleons are usually perfectly camouflaged in the gray rock -- I believe they can change colours too. This fellow waited for me to take the shot, and then disappeared. I intentionally did not crop the image to contain just the chameleon -- The similarity in colour between the animal and the rocks behind it just show how well these guys camouflage themselves.

The chameleon in this snap was probably posing for me. It patiently

waited till I took the camera out of the bag (there were too many

monkeys around, so it was not advisable to keep the camera out of the

bag), focussed and then shot. Then it calmly disappeared in the rocks.
