This is an excellent idea! Love the balloon but the background (or ground in this case) could be more pleasing. Is this the original background?

Quite simply, this is one of the finest balloon shots that I have ever seen, and I live in a city that hosts the largest hot air balloon festival in the world. Composition is highly original.

Yes, background is original, it's a burnt wheat field.

It's quite original, and I like it, but I would maybe crop it from right, about 1/3 of the frame.

By the way - I presume that this picture was taken at the Metz balloon meet ? I have been a couple of times - it's a great place to fly. Scenery is wonderful, and the locals were very freindly.

Unlike the earlier comment, I am sure you choose this scene for the field pattern and its contrast with the balloon (shape and colour !).
