John Crowe 165 Posted May 20, 2004 This is an excellent idea! Love the balloon but the background (or ground in this case) could be more pleasing. Is this the original background? Link to comment
robert goldstein 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Quite simply, this is one of the finest balloon shots that I have ever seen, and I live in a city that hosts the largest hot air balloon festival in the world. Composition is highly original. Link to comment
photoaddiction 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Yes, background is original, it's a burnt wheat field. Link to comment
talvitie 0 Posted May 21, 2004 What an interesting picture. You first don't realise from where it is taken. Very cool. Link to comment
gavin martin 0 Posted May 21, 2004 What a truly fantastic and original shot. This really stands out amongst the standard submissions. It wonderfully graphic and abstract. I would love a print of this if they're available? Link to comment
knittel 0 Posted May 21, 2004 Great composition. I actually like the background. chris Link to comment
Timo Hartikainen 556 Posted May 21, 2004 It's quite original, and I like it, but I would maybe crop it from right, about 1/3 of the frame. Link to comment
wayne_young1 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Great Shot Damien - wish I'd taken it!Though I don't think it's quite as original as people think :)I have a shot that shares some of the same elements ...http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=1242938... and I am sure I have taken something like this myself. I'll have to see if I can dig it out.By the way - I presume that this picture was taken at the Metz balloon meet ? I have been a couple of times - it's a great place to fly. Scenery is wonderful, and the locals were very freindly. Link to comment
deozmac 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Unlike the earlier comment, I am sure you choose this scene for the field pattern and its contrast with the balloon (shape and colour !). For me, it's a really well executed photograph Link to comment
deozmac 0 Posted May 22, 2004 Wayne's balloon folder photos are commendable, indeed a couple are very similar. Link to comment
