jbrand 0 Posted May 19, 2004 This often happens to me too! I travel someplace far away, and get there to find rain, or fog, or haze that makes it less than ideal for photography. I like the composition here. The angle of the lines of street lamps adds a lot of eye interest to what might be a dreary day picture. The open arches behind the nearest row of lamps is also interesting. The missing lamp post provides a nice frame opening for the building in the background. Finally, the reflections in the wet pavement work well to create eye-appeal. Well done! Link to comment
michael_ward1 0 Posted May 20, 2004 I knew it would be rainy before I left (oh, the wonders of the Internet!), and in fact there was much less rain than I expected. There was just one day it really poured, and so I spent that day inside the Louvre looking at other people's art. The problem with rain is that it is so often accompanied by wind, which makes it damned hard to keep the rain off the lens. But those raindrops on the UV filter add a little something, don't you think? Link to comment
jbrand 0 Posted May 21, 2004 Yes, the rain on the filter adds hazy spots that could be low-hanging mist. I am always worried about keeping my camera dry, so try to keep it under an umbrella. Umbrella edges frequently show up in my rainy day pics as a result. The Louvre is a great spot to spend a rainy day. I'm ready to go back again! Link to comment
