The half lower part of the picture is not clear,I don´t know why. Excellent colours! At moments like this you don´t mind dying. Very powerful image.Well done.

Magnificient sky, and you had not the right to miss it, nor to fail it. You just could hide the little branch on the left.

One of the most dreamatic skies I have ever seen.

Well captured and great going for your 1st upload. Look forward to see more of your pics.

Pls do leave some technical details (exposure, any filters used etc)

Great shot!!!

This is a good 6/6 photo. I know some people gave you a 7, but I think that was to impress you because you are new and to get you to look at their folders and vote on them. "Now, if I'm going to be completely honest ...", to paraphrase Simon Cowell, there are some things that could make this photo better. The parts of the tree at top and left don't really help the photo, they distract a little. If there were more of the tree showing it might help frame the photo to make it more interesting (or not). This is a nice photo, but the most appealling part are the colors, not the composition. It looks like you have a good eye and I hope to see more from you.

David, Is there anything more powerful than an image collecting the beauty of our sun reflected in the clouds and water of our earth? We see clouds, and we see water everyday. But only as it reflects the awesome beauty of the sun does it put us in place on our earth.

Dear Commenters,

David Bradley here...

Firstly, the lower part of the image is not as clear because there is mist flowing over the lake...

Secondly, the branches could not be avoided...I was on a dock and went as far out as I could, but in order to capture everything, they had to be included...had I taken the time to get in the boat and head for open water a bit farther out, I would have missed the shot...

Thanks so much for your comments, I will send another image up soon.

David, thanks for the rating of my photo. I think this is your strongest image. You captured the moment beautifully. A shame about the tree. Nevertheless, an image to be proud of.

I sometimes pick up this magazine called the Super Shopper up here in Canada and sometime in th summer I noticed they were having a photo contest, so I looked through things and decided to send this one to them...

This past Friday I found a message on my answering service acknowledging my entry...

And informing me that I had won the Grand Prize...

Don't know what that is, but it seems that sometime down the road this image will grace their cover...

This was my first contest and I must admit I find it a bit inspiring...

Thanks for all your comments and ratings...they are appreciated and encouraging.

Viewing this with a deep breath gives me a moment where all is right and nothing is wrong. Only 11 7/7s - out of 31,303 views this deserves many more 7s.
