rascal64 9 Posted May 23, 2004 This photo is absolutely stunning! I must put it in my faves. How long did it take you, to get it? Link to comment
wong_kk 0 Posted May 24, 2004 This picture was taken in a garden. As my skill is not good enough to trace the moving object, I used a stupid method to catch a flying butterfly ----- stayed by a flower and kept waiting. The aperture was set as f/5.6 and the camera was focused on the flower in advance. Then, the shutter was pressed after I adjusted a bit the camera to fit the angle of butterfly. I stood by this flower for an hour and took about 10 different shots. Cheers :D Link to comment
drymanphoto 0 Posted May 24, 2004 It looks like your patients paid off on this shot. I think that's often what it takes to get a good shot and then to improve upon a previous idea. The only thing that could be improved on in thos photo, is the focus on the moth/butterfly, which would not be an easy thing to accomplish, although a greater depth of field might help. wong_kk 0 Posted May 25, 2004 To bring out the butterfly clearly, I fully buy your idea that my camera should focus on it. In fact, I've tried it before by setting my camera as spot metering, center focusing and panning my len along with the butterfly. I don't know why the AF response of my Canon camera is always slower than the moving object. Never can I obtain a sharp focus on the flying object. I'm still thinking what's happen to me. However, I keep trying with your suggestion and hope to have a break through in a day. Have a nice day! Cheers :D Link to comment
