Another from my "boats" series. What do you think?

Right on the money with the exposure and composition. Nice work, Predrag.

It's a great subject for black and white. Good tonal values and the composition is fine. Nice job.

Nice composition Pedrag,in particular I like the texture thanks mybe to the b&w.

I don't know what can be suggested to make this better Predrag, short of adding a third boat ;-)

The composition , light and tone is great,but for me, mising the beautifuls colours like in

"the blue boat".

I like the photo, but I would prefer if the angle was lower. Also, I agree with Floriana: another photo in colour was slightly better.

Nice contrast of object forms. Well caught. As an inmprovement: square format and low key.

I agree, nice tones, shame there isn't more of the water and reflections but you can't go cutting down the trees.

... the large number of details and the good sharpness (as far as this can been seen in that jpg). Only one thing: A little bit more water, maybe with some reflection of one of the boats ... Really nice work ... Peter

I think it´s a really good picture in this monochrome colour.

It is very cute. I wouldn't touch it. Leave it as it is.

This image is very good, also the B&W..perhaps a little of more contrast..!!!

Thanks for the invitation Predrag - this is really very nice - I love it. Personally, I prefer when the subject is a bit off-center, because it makes it a little more interesting - but it really depends on the image. I like the water reflection inside the boats.. nice work!

I like the tonal range and the contrast. Maybe a slightly different composition could add some dynamics to the image (off center, boat orientation), but I don't know if the location allows for that. Anyway, a fine image as is.

Boats are a little too central with too much clutter around them.I would crop top 1/5 & right 1/4 & up the contrast.See attached file & let me know what you think.

Thank you all for commenting in a constructive way. I like Peter's version, which is BTW similar to the one posted by Andris, but this is not what I was after. I wanted the boats to be in the center and surrounded by foliage, and deliberately avoided high contrast. The intention was to convey a peaceful, calm and still mood. Higher contrast is, to my understanding, better suited to dramatic scenes, which this one certainly isn't.

I think that you did indeed get what you were after. I am not so sure that it would be better in colour. To me the image is somewhat stark and hard somehow though technically it is fine. I am not sure how you could soften it.

I will agree with Peter Nixon regarding the cropping of the image. Placing the two boats away from the center creates a more dynamic and pleasant composition

I especially like the symbolizm of the two boats snuggled safely in a harbor. I also prefer the original image as posted rather than the darker examples suggested.

I stand corrected.Having read your intentions for the atmosphere you wished to convey,then I have to admit your version achieves it admirably.

I like this a lot. I feel as if I've stumbled across these two boats during a hike. They're almost inviting me out for a row. The arrangement of elements is good, surrounding the boats in a circle of foliage and rocks creates a serene and natural feeling. Some have suggested moving the boats more off center. I think that might have helped. But this version is well done.

You have all the grey tonality in your exposition.
