Ribbons of gold

ian cameron

I have to admit this is a personal favourite of mind so don't be too harsh. I put on a brand new unscratched 0.9ND grad filter. Waited for the sun to go as low as I could without compromising the delicious golden ribbon of light on the edge of the pool of water and prayed that flare wouldn't consign it to the round filing cabinet. I think I just got away with it.

Thank you for you early comments folks. As soon as I am able I will upload it for general viewing. This is a bit of a personal favourite so I'm glad it appears to be well received.

Superb. I love the textures in the sand and the small pools of water. The curve in the composition takes the eyes around the frame and leads them comfortably towards the back where you have a beautiful setting sun. Very dynamic composition. Outstanding photograph.

Outstanding. I love how the twisting lines on the left side work with the changes in tone on the water. One of my favorite landscapes on photo.net.

A sort of belated critique request since I have already had very

encouraging comments on this photograph. Although I judged my timing

quite nicely, I was very lucky that lens flare didn't consign this to

the bin.

Great photo....shot at just the right moment, and very good use of the grad ND filter.

It would stand too without the sunset,so I can concentrate more on the shadows and detail on the road and sand wich is great.Fine photo Congratulations.

Magnificient shot. I don't know if I want to dive into the water or into the sky. Perhaps into the sun ?

Wonderful photograph Ian! The sinuous line of the shore/sea interface is perfect. The lighting on the sand is excellent; you captured just the right moment on this one. Regards.
