martin_bosshard 0 Posted July 24, 2001 The colors are so vivid as to be almost - but not quite - garish - this is of course the painters choice, not the photographers. I like the picture for its juxtaposition of strong and pastel colors. The contrast range here must be at least 6-7 stops making this a difficult shot. The landscape format suggests the quiet heat of siesta-time, but the converging lines from the street add an element of tension. The sidewalk leads the eye to the girl in the doorway. I rated this high on the originality, because the moment (lighting) is well chosen - the angle of the sun really brings out the texture and the color in the wall. Well done. Martin Link to comment
edwardo 0 Posted December 30, 2002 I'd agree with Martin, the lighting is challenging, but you've done a good job of using the limited latitude that Velvia has. I like the moment of the girl's(?) entrance into the shadows as well... Link to comment
