Roarin' Rock

chad_gard

While waiting for Tim to get out of my shot, I liked the colors of the creek bed right here. Out-of-frame to the left is a very large cascade, but this little one was more interesting. At the time, I played with using a circular polarizer to remove some of the reflection, but decided I didn't want to. Now I wish I had bracketed my filtration (boy, Steve Shoemaker would love that...)

If only you had bracketed your filtration! On the other hand, the reflection sort of leads the water out of the frame. Believe it or not I really did bracket my filtration on a shot while you were waiting for me. I ended up liking the reflection better than the filtered shot, but... Seriously, I really like this perspective. Definitely a "crossing the river" opportunity!

Thanks, Tim.

Actually, I'm glad I had to wait for you. This shot, as well as "Close Cascade" were taken while waiting, and are both far better than the shot I was waiting to take, which turned out not to be so spectacular. I wouldn't have noticed the good shots otherwise!

I recently hung a print of this photo on my office wall, and have since 're-discovered' it. I

don't recall liking it as much when it was newer, but not it has a bit of a zen appeal for

some reason. So I'd like to see what other folks think.

Comment appreciated.

Beaufiful water shot with a very interesting contrast in sharpness/focus between the rocks and the water. Nice composition & colors. I like it!
