Looking in the crystal ball...

Why did you put the players so off center? Not a criticism at all. Just wondering why photographically. I always ask my students these questions so they will ask them the next time they pull the trigger. If you can come up with a good reason then it's a good technique.

Don't concern yourself with reason -- let your gut judge. I like the off centeredness. It implies that the man on the left is winning. I chess 'space' is a consideration and you're implying that with the off center shot. I also like the light on the White player's face. One thing that would have made this photo more interesting is if there were money in the fish bowl. As it stands the fishbowl is out of place and just distracts. But put a green-back or two inside and you give it meaning and place. Good photo.

You have a lot of pics on photo.net. Are you professional? Some of the pics certainly are. I like this one too, since I also play a bit of chess. Must be great to live in an interesting city...sigh :-)
