shutay 0 Posted May 6, 2004 It's a really nice and powerful image. The child's expression is one of wonder, wistfulness and innocence. Just great. For me though, I would have tried to get the whole face in focus first, then use Photoshop or some such software to defocus the rest of the face so that both eyes remain sharp. Just a thought. Well done. Link to comment
rama_chidambaram1 0 Posted May 7, 2004 What a captivating picture. The picture caught my eye the moment I saw it. The sparkle in the eyes wants you to keep on looking at the picture. An adorable girl. Keep up the good work. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted May 11, 2004 a very difficult shot.considering that kids are not stalbe at one place, taking such a macro shot with such fine control of DOF shows ur talent. after seeing so many comments on this picture, i feel u should share ur experience in handling the baby(subject in photographic terms) while taking pciture.great job. pradeep1 0 Posted May 11, 2004 Thanks for your comment umesh, i am not that good like what you think, secondly i would not do any justice with writing an article, you can check out an article by philip greenspun on portrait photography on the site its awesome. cheers! Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted May 26, 2004 An amazing photo my friend. The colors in the eye against the lack of colors elsewhere is a lovely touch. Well done. Looking at it for the ... 5th or 6th time now ( :-p )... I find that there are some artifacts or child gunk around the mouth that the photo might be benefited from having cleaned. Just a thought. shyamal_ramachandran 0 Posted May 31, 2004 Hi, This is a neat picture. Have you also tried the same composition with the whole face in focus? Glad I got introduced to your work! Will visit regularly! -SR Link to comment

bhooma_raghavan 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Dont just look into her eyes..If u do u r missing the beauty of the rest of the picture... Indeed "beauty lies in the "eyes" of the beholder"...not just the eyes of the baby alone... great work!!!Good luck Link to comment
pedja 1 Posted June 3, 2004 Now that you ask, I noticed this one a few weeks ago, and was surprised it got to the top of the "top rated" page. The reflection in the eyes is nice, but this photo doesn't have much more to offer. The reason for such a positive response is that it communicates with viewers on the emotional level. swati 0 Posted June 3, 2004 Love the concentration of color in the eyes, and the lack of it anywhere else...love the wetness of the mouth....love the empty expanse of the cheeks in between....Childhood captured in all its fragility. Pradeep - awesome! Link to comment
ghiga 0 Posted June 5, 2004 Maybe I have express no good my thinking. The doubt is on the difference of focus between the planes of the eyes. Maybe it is too out of focus the eye in the foreground as regards to the eye in beckground. And the most percentage of the image is out of focus. It is only a my impression. That's all. ciao! the grey house 0 Posted June 29, 2004 I remember this photo well - I'm only sorry I did not comment on it when I first saw it - I thought I had - wonderful imagery. The detail and colour you have captured in those big beautiful eyes is astounding. Marvellous image Pradeep. Warm Regards Paul... Link to comment
pmac 0 Posted June 30, 2004 Hi Pradeep I like the clarity of the picture-within-a-picture in the eye - good concept. You might want to blur or clone out the stuff on the right of the mouth which is also in the plane of focus and is a bit distracting. Regards, Paul Link to comment
pradeep1 0 Posted June 30, 2004 thank you paul, paul, sanjay and mayur for your comments and suggestions, i really appreciate it. cheers! Link to comment
louis1 0 Posted July 1, 2004 Hi Thanks for visiting my photo. This is very interesting and I wonder if you were taking it again what changes you might make? Louis Link to comment
pradeep1 0 Posted July 1, 2004 Louis, to answer your question, if i had to shoot a similar photo again, then i would maybe shoot with a DSLR, with a better DOF, but not too much to get the focus off from the left eye. maybe i would improve the skin tone and sharpness a bit. cheers and thanks.
