jafar 0 Posted July 24, 2001 If you did not say the camera brand I will definitely say its medium format. Amazing sky what time of the day you toke this picture Link to comment
justin_loeber1 0 Posted July 24, 2001 Very nice. I like to the lighting and the effect of the timed exposure on the sky. There's something a little wierd about the composition, but I can't put my finger on it. Link to comment
axel-cordes 0 Posted July 25, 2001 Thanks for the comments. The camera was a Canon 30. Regarding the composition I think the 20mm are to short - all is "falling" to much. But there was a street and I could not stay there with the tripod... to have more distance. On the other hand the 20mm build a more "open" space in front of the building... Link to comment
axel-cordes 0 Posted July 30, 2001 Thanks for your "wow".After beeing home after this "image-night" I was realy disapointed because I missed a realy fime image. So now I'm glad that there are some out there likeing this one. Link to comment
marc_schultz2 0 Posted September 3, 2001 Very well executed and exposure time of 30 seconds seems correct for this shot, but the exposure on the foreground statue seems a bit heavy, maybe the scan has something to so with it and film is better. The composition is quite good. Good depth of field and great color contrast with the sky. Somehow the statue ion the foreground botehr me a bit though. Seems to be a bit too prominent and detracts a bit from the rest of the frame. Maybe another angle with a bit less fo the statue would work better. Regards. Link to comment
axel-cordes 0 Posted September 4, 2001 You are right, next time I should do some more shots with different composition... But in this situations there is not a lot time. I realy had to hurry to get this one, the sky was changeing quick to dark... Link to comment
jo_o_caetano_dias 0 Posted October 14, 2001 Very good exposure and composition! The moving clouds in the sky brings a dramatic sense to this image. Link to comment
arthur sevestre 0 Posted February 18, 2002 Good exposure with nice effects in sky and lanterns. Just a (rather extreme(?)) thought: maybe you could cropp off the whole cafe on the right side because to me it doesn't really add to the picture. It would be a very tight cropp, but maybe interesting? Link to comment
trevor_hopkins 0 Posted October 26, 2002 A very nice shot of this beautiful city. You need the right side of the frame to enjoy the diverging cloud effect, but a slight rotational crop to get the lamp posts vertical would help offset the cafe's subsidence. I'd also be tempted to remove the flare at the top of the frame. Link to comment
helena_ludwig 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Hi! What a great photo of my hometowns city-palace the "Hofburg". It seems like you have had rain and that´s always good for nightwhots. On the second sight - for my taste - the sky seems to be a little too oviously edited. If you have time and enjoyment in working with Photosop you could try other versions of this picture. I´d like to see more of stuff like this! Link to comment
axel-cordes 0 Posted June 11, 2003 Sorry Helena, no PS is done here, like all my other images! I only have one B&W-IR which is "painted" by mistake, and I keeped it - and mentioned it! I'm using PSP only as a darkroom - cropping, and right exposure... Link to comment
