tony bell 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Nice contrast. While the whispy clouds are a nice contrast to the jagged rock, if you are going to use this much of the sky I'd rather see some big pretty clouds floating around. Otherwise crop of a portion of the top or shoot it in landscape instead of portrait. The rock formation is very interesting. Link to comment
knjnatr 0 Posted May 20, 2004 Tony: Thank you for your comment. I too liked the clouds in this shot and I do actually have this shot in landscape just to see the difference once printed. I think the reson I like the vertical shot better is because some of the rocks seem to get a little too busy and contrasty with all the shadows when in landscape. Link to comment
tony bell 0 Posted May 22, 2004 I think you may be correct in your reasoning for the portrait. That was a good choice, but I like the clouds in the landscape better. How would it be to crop the landscape to match the portrait and take advantage of the (IMO) better clouds? That might leave the sky TOO full of clouds. Still a great shot. Link to comment
john schroeder 0 Posted May 28, 2004 I like this better in the verticle format. The swooping clouds give height to the mountains. Link to comment
