This is from one of my first rolls ever of kids from around my old

neighborhood in Savannah. The darkness at the left corner and the

bright sky on the right bother me...I'd like to know what others

think and also general opinions.

Maybe this isn't what you intended to catch, but I see a lot in this shot. I see three expressions of children. first, being courious ( what is this lady doing). The second child is restless ( what else is going on back there?). The third child is just tickled and is giggling for all she's worth. The lighting puts the picture together. The ablilty to just be tickled and giggle all too soon fades away.

Sorry if I read too much into it, but thats what I see. Very, very well done.

I like this quite a bit, although I would prefer to see a larger version than you seem to have posted. I see: inquisitiveness, uncertainty... not exactly *fear*, but definitely something short of *trust*.

I try not to be too tech-oriented -- although I have one of them pesky Y chromosomes rolling around in pretty much every one of my cells, so it's not easy -- but I'm curious to know what lens you used for this shot -- mainly because the out-of-focus areas look a bit "rough" to my eye.

I took this in one of my first photo classes, so I must've been using a 80-210 (or is that 70??) Sigma variable aperture lens.

These kids appear to be relating to the camera or to the photographer, instead of being more just themselves. Once they learn to ignore you and the camera, your photos of them will become more interesting.

The expressions in this photo are gripping, and the exposure looks great to me. The blown out portion in the background doesn't bother me that much, but I'm not too picky about that sort of thing if the subject is well exposed, which it is.

My favorite so far in this folder. I do not appreciate cameras being off kilter, like some of your other shots. i like this kid's expression, the lighting and the fuzzed out kids in the background.
