although i like the perspectivev of the 4 "pans", i would prefer a shot which crops in more on the artist and the currently worked on object.

The rest of this folder is tight shots of the work being created.

I have some midrange shots (not uploaded) but for various reasons I don't feel they work as well as this wide shot and the tight views of hands and clay I have here.

I have an other shoot with this artist tomorrow and will try to get some more "portrait" like images.

I find the potter images depressing for some reason. The B&W possibly... they look like some sort of communist pot factory. In this particular image, it is as if one woman works, because she has to, and the rest do not show up because they are taken care of by the state or something. Maybe if they were in color.

It's interesting how different people view the same image. I have context for the image so there's a lot if information I know about it that isn't included in it.

Others have called my work "nostalgic" or "melancholy" so I suppose "Depresisng" isn't that far away :)

For my part I try to capture a moment. I love that monent, but just as you can never cross the same river twice, that moment will never come again. It the fleeting nature or the moment that attracts me. Like fireworks, part of the beauty is the transience of the moment, so there is (or I hope there is :) a sense of beauty tinged with loss in my work. Well that's the "Artists Statment" sort of way of saying I don't think my color work would is much different.

I assure you no potters were harmed in the making of this photograph. The artist pictured has paid for access to this studio space an the work is her own, not property of the state :)

Thanks for your comment, it really made me look at what I was trying to capture and the different things people see in it.
