salvatore.mele 1 Posted May 2, 2004 Very nice colours and framing. Too bad for the little part of boat/house which got cut on the left hand side... Link to comment
chris pastella 0 Posted May 2, 2004 Beautiful. But what have you done with the sky ? Looks as if it came from a differente picture. Link to comment

Guest Guest Posted May 2, 2004 Very interesting shape. Are these really old boat hulls or just made to look like it? Really diferent and eye catching. Link to comment
paulus 0 Posted May 2, 2004 great subject, nice picture. I think however, that the sky is a little overdone. Did you use a polarizer? To me it looks too dark on the left and to bright on the right. Did you take it in the late afternoon? Paul Link to comment
thomas_turk 0 Posted May 2, 2004 Cirrus clouds DONT go into the ground, at that angle They are composed of ice crystals, 30,000 feet up, and before they would reach the horizon, they would be out of sight. Sorry I am still around, Kevin.. Link to comment
reighamsyde 0 Posted May 3, 2004 anyone can see it is 2 photos (Birk)(sorry I mean Turk. For the record if I have taken a photo and the sky is washed out rather than not put the photo on I will do something to it which in this case I pasted in a sky.(Honest it is no big deal at the end of the day it is an image (the landscape I took is still the same (whatever landscape I would have taken is still mine.(It works) have you seen the reaction.(LONG LIVE PHOTOSHOP Link to comment
neil 0 Posted May 3, 2004 Photoshop is nice, but a pasted-in sky is something you ought to mention up front, to avoid a negative reaction. Now, that issue aside, how does it look? The forms of the bulidings are spectacular, but I would say the fake sky is too much here. The light on the buildings suggests an overhead sun slightly to our left, whereas the sky suggests a sun far to the right. Then there's the issue of where the two pictures meet. These are hard to do, but the artificially sharp meeting between the two gives the picture a sense of fakeness. Also notice the halo on top of the closest building. I hope I don't sound too critical. There is a reason you've caught so many eyes--the scene is beautiful, even if it looks a little unnatural. Link to comment

wilsontsoi 0 Posted May 3, 2004 ...at least from the thumbnail. Good idea. I don't mind the layered in sky, but in this case is a bit unnatural. I think improvement can be made with fixing of the white outline along top of left building, and may be rotate the sky orientation 90 degree clockwise to be more natural. Nevertheless, very catchy with lovely green and pleasing form. Link to comment
