Blue figurines

A study of light on Lalique crystal figurines.

There's something about this shot that I really like, can't quite put it in words...maybe its the way the light seems to be emanating from inside the figurines...hmmm...that's it :-).

how did you light these figurines? to my eyes, this has a nice balance in that it is a soft light even though it appears to glow so brightly from within the figures...by this, I mean that a person can still see all of the details in the figures.

 

as a non-photographic aside, these really remind me of the small Japanese figurines called "netsuke" that are based on mythological creatures...

Thanks Jeff. I don't know about 'Netsuke' but the little blue angels by Lalique crystals was once promoted by Elton John to buy for a good cause like "Aids" or similar. yes the light reflected is cool.
