gunnar 0 Posted April 27, 2004 Since it's my first submission and I'm aware that it's not the greatest artistic creation of all time, I'm just interested in whether people like this image, and suggestions on how to improve. Thanks, Gunnar Link to comment
tristanlaing 0 Posted April 27, 2004 Not a bad night photo. I really like the colours reflected on the river. One thing to try though, on photos like this try stopping down your lens to F16, 22 or higher, and use a long shutter speed (30sec+) to compensate. Since the lens is very accurate at that appature, you wont get blurs of light on the buildings, but rather many individual point sources. Also, the sky can turn interesting colours. Although, with a digital camera, I don't know if it would have the same effects (i.e. your film doesnt have any natural colour tendencies). Link to comment
eduardo_covett 0 Posted April 29, 2004 As you comment about one of my photos, I got interested about your work. It's pretty good. I think the digital cameras are not good choice for night scene shots ... at long exposure you'll always get some noise. Is the light on the water real or PS? Let's keeping tryng and improving. With The EOS300D or EOS10D at ISO 100, there is no noise - you can expose pictures at night over several minutes and still see no noise on your digital photograph. That's why I got a canon not a nikon camera. "Is the light on the water real or PS?" It's real, no post processing was applied. Exposure time 0.8s at f3.5, obviously used a tripod. Link to comment
