arnabdas 0 Posted April 28, 2004 Terrific. Self-portraits are hard to get technically perfect but you did it (assuming you did not crop). Lighting is brilliant. Well done. Link to comment
botho_berg 0 Posted April 28, 2004 Thanx :) Well, normally self portraits are really hard to get them right, but with the G2's twistable display it's not that hard. You can turn the display by 180 degrees so it faces in the same direction as the lenses. Link to comment
johnlund 0 Posted April 28, 2004 Unlike the stereotypical garishness of the eye colorization cliché, your use of color is quite subtle. However, I find it drawing my attention away from an otherwise terrific B&W work. Look again in grayscale, and I think you'll find the eye just as engaging but without the technical distraction. botho_berg 0 Posted April 28, 2004 Hmmmm ... I'm not sure if it looks like better in plain BW, but you are right: the eye coloration should be reduced a bit. It distracts too much. Link to comment
Tuhin 2 Posted April 30, 2004 The eye colouration is perfect , if it draws the eyes of the viewer then it is because it has been nicely done without any overtone and what the ladies would like to call as "intense"..! Well, it seems Berg's fan letters have started pouring in..! I returned to this page not see how others have rated this picture but because this image had a visual impact on me and to correct my rating as 7+7 just to distinguish from the 6+6 rating which is very common in PN. Probably this is one of the best portraits that I have seen. Well done once again. Link to comment
g._r._gooderham 0 Posted May 16, 2004 Wow! These are great!! You have this down pat, I like each one and the tight crops work so well. I tried a series of Self portraits ( about 40 shots and published 5 on here BLIND JAKE)It is very hard to get right and especially seeing that the subject is always complying! I have not tried a model yet but maybe my daughter can be convinced. I think this aspect of Photography is So expessive and you have proven this! Link to comment
