ccd853 0 Posted April 23, 2004 I do love it - where is this, and what kind of bird is it? Link to comment
peter_nagy1 0 Posted April 24, 2004 To: Courtney Doerksen, it's a blue titmouse (Paus caeruleus) what lives in Europe. By the way it's a nice picture! Link to comment
daryl walter 0 Posted April 25, 2004 The red twigs contrast really nicely with the plumage. Nice shot! Link to comment
daniel rufer 1 Posted April 25, 2004 I like the harmony of colors, almost an abstract study in colors :) That said, I would loose the blue spot on the right (flare? background?) as I think the bird should be the only non-red/brown spot in the picture. Excellent picture! Link to comment
mariusnagy 0 Posted April 25, 2004 Of course I could have done a crop. But I like it with more space, more freedom. Link to comment

peter_lai 0 Posted April 26, 2004 I agree with Daniel Rufer. The bluetit should be the center of attention and the blue light in the background is interferring with it. If the photographer's intention of this picture is "the sense of space", then perhaps a wide angle shot of the surrounding area is more appropriate, not a close-up shot of the bluetit. Also, by removing the blue background you're positioning the blue closer to the rule of third which gives a stronger composition. That aside, the picture was well captured, the bird was sharp and the backgournd was nicely blurred. The contrast between the bird and red is very nice and the lighting is soft. Very good effort. BTW, bluetit is a common bird in Europe. Link to comment
tomhallphotographycom 0 Posted April 26, 2004 Incredible contrast in colours, it jumps out of the screen :). Try to compress the picture less in the future, it leaves a nasty mark. Keep shooting Link to comment
vic_harris1 0 Posted August 3, 2004 Hi Marius, I prefer this version over the tighter crop version. I like more of the habitat showing in this. Very nice work! Link to comment
jefftaylor 0 Posted August 21, 2004 Love this picture of a blue tit, like the closer cropped ones even more. Link to comment
buffdr_rasouliyan 0 Posted December 4, 2009 With or without the blue in the back, it looks great. WOW, what a great shot. Link to comment
beaz 0 Posted February 21, 2010 I know this has been up now for a few years, but it still inspires. The composition is very nice and the color is wonderful. Cheers, Jerry Link to comment
