sallymckay-lepage 0 Posted April 21, 2004 Very subtle variations of blue especially in the shadow....most appealing against the yellowish brick. There is something very "Escherish" about this image. Look at long enough and the perspective shifts...front to back and back to front. I like this one alot. Sally Link to comment
root 0 Posted April 21, 2004 By George, you've got it! The hard thing about these shots is to eliminate even the smallest distracting elements. The more subtle repeating elements you describe are exactly the point of the image and get lost if there are more obvious focal points. Link to comment
william_lawless 0 Posted April 21, 2004 This a most arresting image. Sally nailed the effect. It is close to unique. Like a discovery, it existed before and then you found it. Link to comment
sallymckay-lepage 0 Posted April 21, 2004 You know you're right Carl, wise decission to resist applying more "pow"......and I mean that both ways. ;~) Read your comment on blue bubbles and was a bit worried by the ending??? I sense some frustration.....hope things aren't as bleak as that! Sally Link to comment
root 0 Posted April 22, 2004 . . . just a momentary lapse. . . . not to worry. :-) I see that a few new visitors have enjoyed it which is always nice. There is no way that I can think of to jazz this up (although it's a bit duller than my original). There's an American flag just off to the right which made for an interesting focal point for a series of shots on the roll, but you can imagine how some might react to that, both here and abroad. . . . but, hey . . . it's got red in it. MichaelChang 12 Posted April 22, 2004 I like this, Carl, and I'd be knocked dead had there been a bolnde leaning over one of the balconies. :-) Link to comment
root 0 Posted April 22, 2004 I couldn't believe it! Friday evening. The first warm day of the season . . and nobody wanted to relax out on their balcony to celebrate TGIF. (There were two people on the roof, but the composition wasn't very good.) It's fifteen minutes away; I'm going back again. Link to comment
wilsontsoi 0 Posted April 23, 2004 ...like jigsaw puzzles! Love the pattern, contrasting blue-beige colors, black shadows, how cool! Tilting the frame finally made this a winner. Link to comment
johnorban 0 Posted April 24, 2004 I won't repeat all that has been said above. Just one word...wonderful! Link to comment
