Surfer

This picture really captures the immensity of the ocean, and the smallness of humans in the world.

I think that with the surfer placed towards the bottom left of the shot and then showing more ocean you'd get more suggested interplay between the two subjects, not to mention a more eye-pleasing shot.

I toyed in my mind's eye with the cropping right and left and up and down. Some would say that the man would be better placed at the juncture of 1/3's, but I don't think that would have worked for this photo.

 

In order to capture, which you did, the dramatic contrast of the man against nature aspect, you had to place the man virtually dead center to show the smallness of man to the sea.
