Nice shot, but too much contrast that makes viewing it unpleasant (at least for my eyes). Maybe you should trim the bright sky to concentrate on the cow. On the other hand, though, as it is now it gives the viewer a better idea about the reasons that made the cow stop sun tanning :)

How original (7/7)! Details in sky, grass and top of the umbrella are lost due to over exposure. Any way you can scan again and underexpose those areas?

i think i'm stuck with this. being a cloudless, sunny day, and obviously exposing for the shadow to get the cow (subject) properly exposed, this is what we're left with...blown out highlights. the sand can be brought down some, but i'm afraid the sky is lost due to the nature of this kind of metering. maybe i can ps another sky in??? ;-)

I really like the originality of the cow seeking shelter under the umbrella, but I think you would be better off croping out the sky rather than replacing it with another. Just my $0.02
