I keep getting the feeling I should have framed this holding the camera

on its side. Did I crop out too much of her head?

Her hands lead you out to either side of the frame. You would have made the picture seem cramped if you'd used a vertical frame. Did you capture her character? She seems a very confident and happy young lady.

the framing is perfect. it's as if the hands need some room to flow and you've given them that room - I know that sounds abstract but it works.

 

vertical would have done nothing for this photo.

I think you captured her mood very well. I might have positioned her slightly lower in the frame to make it a little more dynamic.

I think the cropping is just about right. I would have cropped tighter horizontally, too. (Just past her fingertips.)
