simon_hodgson 0 Posted April 17, 2004 This is my favourite shot or rather shots from my recent 3 month trip to Canada. It is actually the result of 5 images stitched. Many people say they like the sepia look........well its actually as shot. No colour correction at all. If you look closely you'll notice the red Canadian flag. It was that cold that day (-30 degrees), that everything appeared to have this look. I've had this printed at 130cm wide, with a supergloss finish on the Durst enlarger. Looks better than anything I've ever shot on film!! Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted April 27, 2004 There have been a number of stiched panos that recently mucked up the look of the TRP. People who uploaded images wider than 800 pixels in the horizontal dimension, resulted in their thumbnails pushing others off the screen. You have stuck to the recommended limit and whilst I thought: "good on ya, Simon", the PN image recompression has stolen much from your original, imo. I have no doubt that the 130cm print looks awesome! I looked closely at the large version and imagine to be able to see something slightly reddish, just left of centre, right next to one of the tallest pine trees. Only once or twice before, have I come across an image that shows the monochromatic wintery look. -30 sounds awfully cool to me and I was impressed that your 1D still cooperated under these conditions. A very special Australia Day image indeed! Link to comment
simon_hodgson 0 Posted April 28, 2004 Thanks Pete, and you're spot on mate. These computer monitors do not do this justice at all. The image is rather bizzare with a the red canadian flag and a green roof on the right hand side. Not real noticeable in this low res version. Link to comment
peter_daalder 0 Posted April 29, 2004 I had another look at this on a different monitor and do you think that I could see that canadian flag? No way at all! I must go and have a closer look at your NorthBridge pic, it too, looks rather good, even just as a thumbnail... Link to comment
