The unmistakably kitch mix of art-deco and neon used to be a

trademark of American diners, and has fascinated me since I was a

boy. Unfortunately they are becoming increasingly difficult to find

amongst the uniform blandness of modern fast food outlets.

It's the postcard feel I like! Very apropos to the subject matter. Great lighting!

 

Dave, I live in Worcester, MA where the dining car originated...still some good ones here, but in bad surroundings.

Great . . except I would have liked the "E-IN" to have the same bright light as the rest.

 

Please visit my diner folder. I'd love to do a tour of the US shooting nothing but chrome-clad diners, especially at night. Some around here have closed down. Others are being built in this style.
