Fire In The Trees

This was taken on a sunny fall day in Shenandoah National Park. I

originally called it "Shenandoah Fall", but that sounds like a name

that would be used to market cleaning supplies ("Try Pine-Sol, now in

two new refreshing fragrances, 'Sea Breeze' and 'Shenandoah Fall'!").

 

Any opinions/ideas on the shot? Do you like the lens flare?

Instead of the star filter, I'd prefer the sun be hidden by the tree to hopefully see sun rays peering through so this is more original. Sun flares can be effective, but I think it hurts on this one.

Hm, I have a version without any lens flare -- prefer this one? I also have one without any starburst at all, but I'll have to put it up later...

IMHO, the one without the lens flare is better. Of course, now it's lacking a main subject. However, if there's enough glow around the branches, that might be subject enough.
