I'm very glad seeing photo I've ranked previously among very firsts on top 3 day ranking. What I like here? Light, rythm, color, differently lit planes. Regards

The pixels have excelled here..They, and you, have captured this image superbly. The highlighted leaves are magical, whether from sun or snow, we cant tell, but it doesnt matter.. The contrasting fallen leaves and grass, with a misty background, rounds out a 17th Century Dutch oil painting.

so you can be nice to a digital camera owner...

Marcin, well done photograph and even better that you receive praise from thomas, the digital basher...

As you correctly state in your bio Fred, digital has a bright future. And maybe it is the CORRECT tool for a beginner, who has to work doubly hard to make an extra ordinary photo, with the necassary use of spectacular lighting, composition, controls, and subject matter...to overcome its present lack of clarity and natural color saturation...which of course, every shot does NOT need....Maisel did superb digital with his over 1000 color shots seen on jaymaisel.com., but then, he is a 40 year pro..A few have excelled here recently including Rachael Janes portrait, Maritas sunsets, and this one.

thomas, you keep claiming digital lacks clarity and saturation...Sounds like to me you never been in a conventional darkroom before. What do you think the lab techs and photographers do in there...just wind the film up into a reel, mix chemicals and aggitate? They have to refocus the enlarger, they have correctly adjust the color and exposure and then process the print. All of that effects the end result...The digital darkroom is no different. Only so much can be done with the camera, especially on the web, the most critical process, imo, for web viewing, is the digital darkroom...Photoshop. I've noticed the backing off of the digital bashing...instead of the same old lame line of should've bought a contax/zeiss/blah blah....make suggestions of adding the saturation or adjust the curves....or is this something you haven't experienced yet?

Marcin, again well done photograph.

This is all very new to most of us, I think. A lot of it wasn't just the darkroom, but the chemical and emulsion makers working on our side. Now we have to learn to do what they used to do for us. It's an uphill battle, but worth it.
