This is a retake of a photo I've posted in the summer of 2003. It is a desaturated version of the original (shooted on Kodak colour film); using the channel mixer and the colour balance tool in order to get proper desaturation.

This is a retake of a photo I've posted in the summer of 2003 (blue version). It is a desaturated version of the unmanipulated original (shooted on Kodak colour film). After using the channel mixer and the colour balance tool in order to get proper desaturation I did some contrast and level adjusting.

Please view it large. Cheers,

Adrian;

I still feel that this is one of the most beautiful portraits I have ever seen and it will always be. This image will always be a landmark image for you. My very best.

Great shot, but I´m missing the horizon. Where is the line between water and sky. Hard to see that it is on the beach.

Thank you for your comment... and, yes, you were right on the "horizon line" issue. The problem was, that I had to deal with a very poor scan quality in the first place (My Epson scanner is moribund). Well, I rescanned it and I hope, I got a more satisfactory result this time. (I scanned it twice - Firstly, in order to get proper levels for the face and secondly to get the levels of the sea to some degree visible; I than added the two layers together.(PS7) . Cheers,
