smhickel 0 Posted April 13, 2004 Sometimes a nice b&w image of good tonal range with nice gradations and textures is just that. regards, Steve Link to comment
MichaelChang 12 Posted April 14, 2004 Hi Steve, here's a variation, cropped and contrast adjusted to place focus on the subject in relation to foot prints. Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted April 14, 2004 I did 0 manips on this photo. I see when it gets lightened the noise really jumps out (white specks and grayness). I like your crop better than mine. I knew splitting lake and sand with person would have compositional issues but still went with full-frame as shot look. Thanks again. Steve Link to comment
guts80 0 Posted May 18, 2004 It seems like the image is suffering slightly from scanning descripances. I only adjusted curves in the attachment bellow...does this do the image more justification? Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted May 18, 2004 Your image seemed to make a slight difference for the better. Thanks for showing me! Steve Link to comment
guts80 0 Posted May 19, 2004 Glad it did the image more justification. As I've learned, no matter what scanner you use, you'll still need to mess aroudn with curves / levels to get the correct contrast and brightness level (and color / saturation for color photos). Link to comment
smhickel 0 Posted May 19, 2004 You're right. Was doing that again this morning -- playing with levels. Makes a diff. r, Steve Link to comment
