Palm Sunday. Church at St. Petersburg State Technical University

Does this image convey emotion to you, or it's just a kind of banal snapshot (admittedly with a bit uncommon lens/aperture combination)? Do you think catching people's bodies at some point during movement/interaction is a way to work?

I tried several times to be near some kind of ordinary interactive action (e.g. on a party), watch and shoot it constantly, burning few rolls in one to three hours. Then I pick out few frames that stand out as more interesting, depicting frozen action. I'm evaluating if this method is working and what I can do to improve it.
